The brand new 2017 Porsche Boxster is set to have the latest quality build with new technologies. After producing cars powered by six-cylinder, naturally aspirated engines for 20 years, Porsche is making significant changes to its 2017 Boxster. The changes start with the name since it will have a numerical value added to it. The 2017 Boxster is the smallest convertible produced by Porsche in their mid-cycle refreshing. The 2017 Porsche Boxster is expected to be fuel-efficient and economical.

2017 Porsche Boxster – Features and Design:

The 2017 Porsche Boxster will have a sporty appearance on the exterior. It will be constructed with significantly larger air intakes on the front. On the side, it will have a deeper air intake that will be situated just ahead of its rear wheels. On the back of this sporty convertible will be a Porsche-branded tail fin that will span between its tail lights.

On the front will be LED headlights. Additionally, there will be the renowned Porsche four-point daytime running lights that will be optional for customization purposes. The 2017 Porsche Boxster will have returned suspensions to enhance the braking systems improving safety while in motion. Furthermore, all the parts of the car will be different from those of its predecessors. However, the cargo compartment lids and the windshield designs will be maintained from earlier versions of the vehicle.

In the interior of the vehicle will be luxurious leather seats designed in bucket shapes to enhance comfort for long-hour drives. It will also have a brand new dashboard layout that will be fitted with all the latest versions of the Porsche Communication Management technologies. The 2017 Porsche Boxster will have an optional satellite navigation system, a new instrument panel, and a state-of-the-art touch-screen infotainment system.

2017 Porsche Boxster – Engine Offerings:

Its base model will have a 2.7-liter flat-four engine that is designed to produce 270 horsepower and a torque of 210 lb-ft. It will also exist in a more powerful version, the 718 Boxster S. This 718 Boxster S will be powered by a 3.4-liter flat-four turbocharged engine that will have the capacity to produce 315 horsepower and a torque of 266 lb-ft.

The base transmission will be a six-speed manual while the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox will be considered as an extra option. The manufacturer states that the engine will be 14% more fuel-efficient when compared to its predecessors. This efficiency will be enhanced by the presence of an electric power steering system and virtual gears that help save fuel. The manual transmission on Porsche Boxster is anticipated to accelerate from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds.

The PDK-equipped models are expected to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. If fitted with a Sports Chrono package, the PDK version will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. The 718 Boxster S manual transmissions will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. If fitted with a Sports Chrono package, the PDK version will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.0 seconds.

The top speeds attainable by the 718 base Boxster will be 170 mph while that of the 718 Boxster S will be 177 mph.

The pricing will be $53,000 for the base 2017 Porsche Boxster sports car while the 718 Boxster S will be approximate $70,000. The vehicle will be released to the general public in June 2016. Main competitor will be BMW Z4.
