2017 Porsche Cayman Price, Specs

If you love mid-engined cars that combine great power and luxury, here is a new car to add to your favorite list. The Cayman has been with us for some years now, but the upcoming model, 2017 Porsche Cayman, will achieve what the existing top-speed sports cars haven’t. The German automobile manufacturer will give it a new name 718 Cayman, but whichever the name, the new car will come with a beautiful design and excellent performance.

2017 Porsche Cayman – Body Style Changes:

The outgoing Cayman doesn’t disappoint many customers, so we expect it to rent the new model some features. But what we are sure of is that the new car will not be different from the latest Boxster. The automaker continues with its efforts to reduce the car weight and improve its speed and fuel consumption. This is the reason it will use lighter materials and do away with unnecessary body parts.

Viewing 2017 Porsche Cayman on the sides, you will easily notice its streamlined body. This doesn’t come as a surprise as it is supposed to get this shape in order to be speedier. The front looks striking with big headlights and large air intakes. You will be overwhelmed by the rear side of the car, which has LED-infused tail lights, two well-positioned exhaust pipes and a sturdy spoiler.

Comparing the interior of 2017 Porsche Cayman with other popular roadsters, you will agree with me that it is more spacious. The two-seater sports car will offer hassle-free rides with its roomy cabin and leather upholstered seats. We expect a small cargo compartment at the back of the seats to take care of small personal belongings. Both the driver and passenger will be able to access an infotainment system consisting of a touchscreen and digital controls. The display screen will provide navigation details as well as general driving information.

Being a top-speed car, we do not expect 2017 Porsche Cayman to have a compromised safety system. We are looking forward to safety features such as cruise control, parking assist and seatbelts, among others.

2017 Porsche Cayman – Power Unit:

According to Porsche, the new 2017 Porsche Cayman roadster will get two engine options. The automaker has hinted at the use of the 2.0-liter 4-Cylinder as the main engine. Expect this engine to produce 275 hp and 280 lb-ft. It will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7 speed dual-clutch transmissions. With this engine, the car will take 4.7 seconds to attain 60 mph from the stop. We anticipate for a top speed of 171 mph.

The other engine is a 3.4-liter 4-Cylinder with a capacity of 345 hp and 310 lb.ft. The same transmission systems used in the main engine will be available to back up this engine. We expect all the engines to be better in terms of fuel economy and pollution. The car is tipped to record 22 mpg in city and 32 mpg on highway.
