The Dodge car manufacturer has launched their plans of producing the next generation of Challenger concept. The car is best known for its high performance and speed, especially in the American market. The upcoming model will enter the market as 2018 Dodge Challenger and represents the fourth generation of Dodge Challenger car models. It is going to face competition from upcoming to models including Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang. The new Challenger comes in compact sedan design and will be more of a continuation of the previous models. The manufacturer is going to feature a combination of previous and new styling to make the car appear more unique. Consumers should expect revised exterior and interior styling featuring current updates. Powertrain performance has also been boosted. The car will be offered in up to four trim levels; the base R/T, SRT, SXT and the top of the class SRT Hellcat model.

2018 Dodge Challenger – More Comfort, More Style:

Adopting an elegant 2-door styling, the upcoming Challenger appears sportier on the outside. Its small size and significant weight reduction by the automaker is going to give it a competitive advantage over the rivals including Ford and Cadillac. The body chassis is going to adopt a mixture of aluminum and carbon fiber materials. This will enhance the car’s aerodynamic performance. At the front end, the 2018 Dodge Challenger appears more aggressive with LED headlights and better air intakes to enhance engine cooling. The rear end also appears sporty with a double exhaust system.

Interior Design:

There is still little information on the interior designing for this car. However, it is expected to be a brilliant upgrade the older models. Among the upgrades include a new infotainment system with touchscreen display, premium sound system with satellite radio, MP3/MP4 player, USB port interface, Bluetooth smartphone and audio integration. The dashboard will also be revised to appear more elegant.

2018 Dodge Challenger – Engine Performance:

There are two powertrain options expected to power the upcoming Challenger. The standard engine is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 motor, which is capable of producing up to 305 hp at about 400 lb-ft of torque. It will be coupled with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. This engine will perform relatively better with low-grade 87-Octane fuel. The automaker will also increase the engine’s compression ratio to boost its response.

The optional powertrain is a 6.4-liter V-8 engine with 485 hp which will be available on the SRT Hellcat trim model. It will be mated to a standard 8-speed manual transmission or an optional 8-speed automatic transmission. For both engines, power will be sent to either front wheel drive system or all-wheel drive technology. Top speed, acceleration, and fuel mileage figures are still not available for the 2018 Dodge Challenger.

2018 Dodge Challenger – Date of Arrival and Price:

There is still no official announcement on price and release date for 2018 Dodge Challenger concept. However, most consumers are anticipating that it will enter the auto market in the later parts of 2017 or in the beginning of 2018. The base R/T model will go for around $33,000 while the top of the class model, SRT Hellcat will cost about $63,000.
