The Koenigsegg Regera is a two door plug-in hybrid super car manufactured by Koenigsegg, a Swedish manufacturer of high performance sports cars. It follows in the footsteps of some of the popular super cars such as Porsche 918 or McLaren P1, but comes with additional new features. The name Regera is derived from a Swedish verb meaning to reign or to rule. The car is designed as a more luxury, practical, and a supercar alternative to the rest of Koenigsegg lightweight supercar models. The Koenigsegg Regera offers a unique combination of power, luxury and responsiveness. Touted as the fastest accelerating and powerful car ever, this super car is definitely poised to dominate or rather be very competitive around a race circuit.

Koenigsegg Regera – Body and Designs:

The car’s interior is designed and fitted with ample features to afford the driver a comfortable, luxurious and smooth driving experience. Some of these features include; Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, added insulation, Supreme sound system, Apple Carplay, inner, rear and front camera system with recording capability and ambient lighting among other features. Additionally, the Regera comes with remote diagnostic and firmware update capability, as well as front and rear parking sensors.

The car was designed to be as unique and outstanding as possible. It features a good design and layout of LED Daytime Running Lights, which makes it easy to recognize from a far. The Regera also features a new rear sub frame and rear structure, that allows the engine and transmission to rest on active soft mounts. It is the first car globally to operate all body closures automatically through a remote or smart phone. The body of the car is fully robotized with soft latching mechanisms on all body closures.

Every Koenigsegg car model is characterized by a reliable internal combustion Engine. This is not any different with the Regera, as its twin turbo, DOHC 5 liter V 8 internal combustion engine is just as proven and reliable as with the other Koenigsegg car models. Additionally, it is supported by three electric motors, thus producing a total of 1,500 hp and 1,475 pf of torque that is all sent to the rear wheels through the new technology referred to as the Direct Drive. Direct Drive replaces the old gear box with an electric motor.

The Koenigsegg V 8 is the most downsized homologate production ICE across the globe with 220 Hp per liter engine. The compactness of the engine makes the Regera nimble, lightweight and efficient. The direct drive transmission is capable of delivering blistering response and performance, while also providing a smooth and soothing driving experience. The Koenigsegg Regera’s top speed is 249 mph and is capable of accelerating from 93 mph to 155 mph in 3.2 seconds. Additionally, it only takes 2.3 seconds to accelerate to a speed of 60 mph. At speeds below 30 mph, the Regera runs on electric power alone. However, the internal combustion engine comes into play at speeds above 30 mph.

Koenigsegg Regera – Release Date and How Much will Cost:

With the production of the first batch only limited to eighty units, the Koenigsegg Regera is undoubtedly a car on demand. This car is however very powerful and fully deserves all the plaudits that have gone its way. The 2016 Koenigsegg Regera sports car was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show on March 2015, and its production will be limited to eighty units with each unit costing approximately 1.9 million U.S Dollars.
